About the position

The Security Officer at Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and staff. This role involves performing patrols, enforcing hospital safety and security policies, monitoring alarms and closed-circuit television systems, and responding to both non-emergency and emergency situations. The position is full-time and requires variable shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and staff.
  • Perform patrols of the facility according to a defined schedule.
  • Enforce hospital safety and security policies.
  • Monitor alarms and closed-circuit television systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
  • Direct visitors to their destinations after verifying approval and providing badges.
  • Document detailed and accurate information of events and situations as needed.
  • Participate in investigations and maintain records related to security activities.
  • Conduct outside lighting checks and general vehicle maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
  • Security experience (Preferred)
  • Security Officer License (Preferred)
  • CPR or BLS certification (Preferred)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification (Preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License and must be at least 21 years of age (Required)
