About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Edison, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor and control access at entry and exit points by checking credentials, verifying scheduled arrivals and deliveries, and documenting visitor and vehicle activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by observing inbound and outbound traffic, challenging individuals when appropriate, and following post orders for restricted areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, docks, gates, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
