About the position

The Security / Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for identifying and apprehending shoplifters through active floor patrol and monitoring via Closed Circuit TV Cameras. This role involves reporting incidents, interacting with local law enforcement, and providing courtroom testimony as needed. The position requires a proactive approach to security and loss prevention in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and apprehend shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of Closed Circuit TV Cameras.
• Report writing and documentation of incidents.
• Interact with local law enforcement as needed.
• Provide courtroom testimony as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means.
• Ability to write legible, accurate, and easily understood reports.
• Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation.
• Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision.
• Attendance for scheduled shifts is mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience.
