About the position

The Security Installation Technician role at Edgeworth Security involves supporting the Service and Project Management Teams in delivering security integration projects and servicing existing clients. The technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various security systems, including access control, video management, and intrusion detection systems. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and technical support, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, cleaning, troubleshooting, programming, and testing enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting and programming networked IP video systems.
  • Installing, programming, testing, repairing, and servicing a variety of systems and equipment including CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.
  • Providing technical support and training for customers to maximize satisfaction.
  • Advising management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and installation techniques.
  • Performing all work in accordance with regulations and company health and safety policies.
  • Using troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; current students in a technical trade school are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of technology, infrastructure, and configuration.
  • Current certification or proficiency in video systems such as Avigilon, Axis, Exacq, Digital Watchdog, Hanwha, and IPro is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience servicing IP-based video systems and networking.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in troubleshooting and basic programming of networked IP video systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a multi-site Network Support Specialist or similar role.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the internet and networking.
