About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a commercial real estate location. You will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and document activities using a computer and/or tablet. You will deliver service with clear communication, professionalism, and integrity, while working as part of a team in a caring culture that is agile, reliable, and innovative.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, then report concerns to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership following post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance, gathering information, and coordinating with on-site personnel and/or public services as needed.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol activity, incident reports, and maintenance or hazard observations, and communicate updates during shift handoff.
