About the position
The Security/Light Maintenance position at Baptist Senior Family involves performing security and light maintenance duties to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This part-time role is essential in monitoring access to the facility, conducting security rounds, and performing light maintenance tasks as needed. The position supports the mission of providing high-quality living for seniors while fostering a caring community.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to all areas of the facility as required.
- Direct visitors and contractors appropriately.
- Operate security and control equipment provided by the facility.
- Maintain proper records and report incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Comply with all security and maintenance policies and procedures.
- Escort residents, staff, and visitors to and from the parking lot as needed.
- Perform rounds in the Boiler Room after normal business hours.
- Conduct security rounds of the building and grounds.
- Lock and unlock facility doors at appropriate times.
- Complete routine day-to-day assignments without inconveniencing residents or staff.
- Assist in keeping public areas clean and safe.
- Contact local police immediately upon notification of a break-in or theft.
- Respond to urgent calls as appropriate.
- Perform light maintenance duties such as changing lightbulbs and unclogging toilets.
- Perform snow removal and spread ice melt products as needed.
- Report all mechanical and electrical deficiencies to the Security Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months related experience in security or maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's License preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and interpret concerns.
