About The Position
Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Security Guard I at our Monmouth, NJ location and play a vital role in protecting patients, visitors, and staff every day. Requirements
- Valid New Jersey SORA Certification required
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including outdoors and during varying weather conditions
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or fast-paced situations
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and security best practices
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort using security and reporting systems
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related public safety or customer-facing role preferred
- Experience handling conflict resolution and de-escalating difficult interactions preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor building entrances, interior spaces, parking areas, and exterior perimeters to maintain safety and access control
- Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to potential safety or security concerns throughout the facility
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance
- De-escalate disruptive or challenging situations using sound judgment and professionalism
- Investigate incidents and complete accurate and detailed written reports
- Operate surveillance systems, access control systems, and other security-related technology
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and facilities teams to support a safe patient care environment
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and a visible security presence
- Support emergency preparedness and response procedures as needed
