About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as our Secure Virtual Desktops, Lead to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client’s global Enterprise IT Infrastructure missions. The candidate must have demonstrated experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). This position serves as the team leader for engineers and administrators providing secure virtual desktops services.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a Poly clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience; High School Diploma and 12 years of relevant experience).
  • Certifications: SEC+ or CISSP
  • Proven work experience designing/ implementing VDI.
  • Familiarity with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions and their integration into enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in cloud environments.
  • US Citizenship is required To hold this clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.
  • Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and colocation services.
  • Analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis and IT strategy development.
  • ITIL or other applicable professional certifications.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Salesforce software.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, deploy and maintain secure VDI environments and solutions.
  • Manage session hosts, master images, golden images, application layers, profile containers, and policy configurations.
  • Design and develop enterprise IT solutions across co-locations, data centers, and cloud environments.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies into the VDI to enhance server performance.
  • Evaluate VDI user and client needs as well as their experience to determine need for enhancements.
  • Monitor VDI performance and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor tools that provide critical insights into workloads, depletion of resources, and peak loads of servers.
  • Ensure data accessibility and security.
  • Test and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for effective resolution that resolves root causes.
  • Assess network and server architecture for efficiency, improvements, or upgrades.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of the data center’s layout, systems, and processes.
  • Travel may be required within the National Captial Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements.
