About the position
The Secondary Summer School Guidance Counselor position is available for internal applicants only. The summer school will run from May 27th to June 27th, with daily hours varying based on needs, not exceeding 70 hours in total. Planning meetings will take place in the spring, and specific registration hours are outlined for various dates throughout May and June. The role includes responsibilities for finalizing credits and AIR Testing during the last days of the program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct registration meetings and assist with student enrollment.
- Manage online courses and provide guidance to students.
- Communicate effectively with district staff, students, parents, and the general public.
- Maintain required documentation and records.
- Handle problem situations in a tactful and respectful manner.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio Department of Education license/certificate in the appropriate field.
- Experience as a High School Guidance Counselor.
- Experience managing online courses.
- Understanding of general high school courses, graduation requirements, and summer offerings.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient written and computer skills for documentation.
