About the position

The Logic and Rhetoric Teacher is a full-time, 10-month position responsible for teaching students in a classical Christian school environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of classical education and a Biblical worldview, fostering a stimulating and organized classroom atmosphere. This role emphasizes spiritual leadership, classroom management, lesson preparation, and effective communication with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit spiritual leadership and maturity in interactions with students.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Prepare and present lessons across various subjects, including Bible, reading, mathematics, and science.
• Manage classroom decorum and discipline, ensuring students understand and follow school rules.
• Stimulate student interest and measure progress using diverse techniques.
• Plan and communicate effectively with parents about classroom activities and student progress.
• Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of work, including punctuality and attitude.
• Implement the Seven Laws of Teaching in lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Oversee students during recess and lunch.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Teaching experience in a classical Christian school is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset and belief in the potential of all students.
• Ability to innovate and think creatively about education.
• Ability to use and adapt to various technological tools for teaching.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with classical education methodologies.
