About the position

The Temporary Assistant Manager in the Restaurant Services department is responsible for assisting in directing the daily operations of multiple assigned areas. This role ensures that all staff provide superior customer service and consistent quality products that enhance the guest's experience. The Assistant Manager will implement sales training to upsell products effectively and enforce WCS procedures and checklists for maximum daily efficiency. The position requires working weekends and holidays, with weekday hours also available, and the schedule may change based on weather and guest attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate a daily schedule for associates and supervisors, managing budgeted labor dollars efficiently.
  • Take full responsibility of assigned location(s) in the absence of full-time management and assist whenever necessary.
  • Oversee the daily operation of assigned location(s) and staff to achieve sales targets.
  • Ensure all associates and supervisors provide superior customer service according to WCS and departmental standards.
  • Reinforce selling skills training to increase average transaction spending.
  • Maintain cash and inventory controls to ensure accurate and secure handling of funds.
  • Ensure food or merchandise presentation areas are fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Ensure all work locations are neat, clean, organized, and safe.
  • Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local labor laws and standards for food preparation, presentation, sanitation, and storage.
  • Control portions, food costs, waste, and shrinkage of assigned location(s).
  • Provide consistent quality offerings through proper preparation and display of products.
  • Maintain systems for ordering food, inventory, and related supplies.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all staff.
  • Maintain general knowledge of park attractions and amenities to provide superior customer service.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports as needed and ensure daily production logs and operational logs are filled out accurately.

Requirements

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to train staff in sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of cash handling and inventory control procedures.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a theme park or similar environment.
  • Certification in food handling or safety training.
