About the position

The Scientist position at Kimia Therapeutics is a full-time role focused on supporting drug discovery efforts through the design and execution of in vitro assays. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in the growth of a startup company dedicated to revolutionizing small molecule drug discovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell-based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to investigate the potential of small molecule therapeutics.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across biology, chemistry, and computational sciences to advance promising therapeutic candidates.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date experimental records and prepare study reports.
• Train and/or supervise Research Associates, interns, and other laboratory personnel.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related field with 0-3 years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Deep understanding of immune system function, inflammatory mechanisms, immunological disease pathogenesis, and strong understanding of oncogenic pathways.
• Proficiency in molecular, cellular biology, and immunology techniques, including CRISPR/base-editing tool design, primary cell culture, flow cytometry, qPCR, and Western blotting.
• Experience with in vivo models of inflammation and immunological diseases is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within teams and present complex concepts clearly.
