About the position

The Scientific Project Manager at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research plays a crucial role in supporting the Translational Research department by overseeing high-impact funding and non-funding programs. This position involves collaboration with various internal stakeholders and contributes to the advancement of a robust preclinical pipeline, ensuring effective project management and communication across scientific initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support scientific staff in collecting, maintaining, and synthesizing information for the Foundation's initiatives
  • Manage projects within a portfolio, including participation in check-in calls, note-taking, and disseminating information to the team
  • Maintain intelligence on the preclinical R&D/biomarker pipeline across Parkinson's disease and related disorders
  • Create and manage project committees, working groups, and workshops by collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Develop program impact metrics and support program evaluation during and post-grant period
  • Assist in synthesizing and writing grant portfolio summaries for promising therapeutic targets and biomarkers
  • Help shape the Foundation's programmatic strategy through intelligence tracking and dissemination
  • Update and collate resources for the Foundation's Translational research activities
  • Educate self and team on current key scientific advances and challenges relevant to Parkinson's disease

Requirements

  • PhD degree in neuroscience preferred
  • Knowledge in effectively communicating and presenting complex scientific information
  • Experience in scientific writing, including the ability to describe data and methodologies
  • Ability to distill information into high-impact presentations
  • Track record of successfully completing scientific projects independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks
  • Capable of synthesizing large volumes of scientific data and summarizing key insights
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to articulate project context
