About The Position

As a teacher at Carver Christian Academy, your primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and implement an instructional program that fosters your students' academic, emotional, socialization and spiritual development. You will differentiate learning activities and instruction to meet the needs of students, integrating biblical principles to help them grow academically and in their knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You will use various tools to teach and implement the academic curriculum, follow and update the CCA curriculum, and implement classroom management procedures to maintain a well-ordered and positive learning environment. You will document student progress, monitor growth through assessments, maintain records, and collaborate with administration, staff, and fellow teachers. Attendance at meetings, training, and scheduled evening activities is required, as well as participation in transportation and extracurricular needs.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate.
  • Florida Temporary Educator Certificate; must meet all requirements to obtain a Florida Professional Educator Certificate within 2 years.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of required professional education competencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or other related educational field.
  • Florida State Certificate.
  • Must receive annual in-service requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Differentiate learning activities and instruction that meet the needs of the students in the class while also integrating biblical principles to help students grow academically and in their knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Use various tools to teach and implement the academic curriculum. (i.e., literacy, math, history, science, music, artwork, films, books, computers)
  • Follows and updates the CCA curriculum to best meet the classroom's needs.
  • Implement classroom management procedures to maintain a well-ordered classroom environment.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive and safe environment for parents, students, and staff conducive to learning. Positive environments include spiritual, academic, emotional, social, and physical growth and maturity.
  • Document student learning progress and outcomes.
  • Monitor student growth through assessments and observations.
  • Maintain records and inventory (i.e., curriculum, grades, textbooks, supplies)
  • Collaborate with administration, staff, and fellow teachers.
  • Attend all meetings, training, and duties the administration schedules before or after school.
  • Attend select evening activities as scheduled by administration (e.g., Open House, showcases, fundraisers, Graduation, etc.)
  • Participate in transportation and extracurricular needs and other various tasks as assigned.
