About the position

The School Psychologist plays a crucial role in providing a range of services to support students' educational and emotional needs. This position involves conducting evaluations, offering counseling services, and collaborating with teachers and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans. The role is essential in fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring compliance with educational regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Conduct IDEA evaluations.
  • Write written assessment reports including recommendations.
  • Generate and implement IEP documents and student goals.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments.
  • Develop behavior intervention plans.
  • Assist with response to intervention programs.
  • Interpret and analyze student academic and behavioral data.
  • Assist with the school's 504 Accommodation team.
  • Provide direct intervention services to students (individually and/or group).
  • Provide consultation services with school personnel.
  • Provide consultation services with parents.
  • Act as a liaison with community professionals.
  • Actively participate in continued professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong computer and educational technological skills.
  • Works independently with little direct supervision.
  • Works as part of a team.
  • Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated.
  • Display effective multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Requires a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a School Psychologist License Area of Concentration or an equivalent license in another state.

Nice-to-haves

  • Verification of completion of an accredited School Psychologist program prior to the date of hire that will result in one of the licenses listed above.
  • New program graduates who have not yet received their license may upload a conferral letter from their university program.

  • Salary based on Teacher Salary Schedule.
  • Contract length of 9.5 months (200 days).
