The School Guidance Counselor will promote a positive, non-threatening school environment that actively stimulates the involvement of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the SBDM Council. This role serves as an advocate for all students, assisting them with academic, vocational, and personal problems. The counselor will also conduct classroom guidance activities, disseminate educational and vocational information, and coordinate services with outside agencies. Responsibilities include enhancing the school curriculum, serving as a resource person, making home visits if necessary, coordinating drug education activities, and assisting with school administration tasks related to student records and transitions. The counselor will also administer and coordinate assessment tools, evaluate students for Special Education, and participate in ARC meetings.
