About the position
The School-Based Mental Health Counselor at Rittman Elementary, part of the Christian Children's Home of Ohio, is responsible for providing mental health and case management services to students and families. This role involves collaboration with school officials to support the mental well-being of students through individual and family counseling, adhering to the organization's values and faith-based principles.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to CCHO's statement of faith and code of conduct.

- Demonstrate behaviors reflecting CCHO's core values of Relentless Commitment, Selflessness, and Kindness.
- Provide individual and/or family mental health counseling and effective evidence-based therapeutic interventions according to the client's treatment plan.
- Complete mental health assessments (MHAs), including accurate mental health diagnoses.
- Complete treatment plans (ITPs) in collaboration with the client.
- Complete timely and well-written documentation, including progress notes signed daily or within 24 hours for billing purposes.
- Participate in peer/case review, supervision, and other quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's level Social Worker (LSW) - Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Master's level Counselor (LPC), with independent licensure preferred (LISW or LPCC).
- Experience working with students and families strongly preferred.
