About the position
The State Tested Nursing Assistant & Home Health Aide position involves providing personal care and support to patients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety while assisting with daily living activities. The role requires effective communication with patients and their families, as well as timely documentation of care provided.
Responsibilities
- Provides personal care needs of the patient as designated on the home health aide plan of care.
- Assists with daily activities at the individual's home, including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
- Performs household duties such as making beds, doing laundry, preparing meals, and cleaning.
- Reports changes in the patient's condition and needs in a timely manner.
- Administers oral medication as prescribed by a doctor.
- Accompanies ambulatory patients outside of the home.
- Educates family members about the status and health of the individual being cared for.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of related experience in caring for the geriatric population in a healthcare-related setting preferred.
- Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant license.
