About The Position
The Scale House Operator weighs the trailers of full cages as they arrive from the farm and keeps a record on a separate back dock sheet, ensuring it matches what is entered in the system. They also weigh trailers of empty cages, keeping records in the system and on the back dock report. The operator records all weights on appropriate paperwork and gives the information to the plant receiving clerk. They coordinate the schedule of the trailers to the plant live receiving department, maintain copies of the weight tickets, and distribute them to the appropriate areas. The role also involves weighing outside trucks as necessary, providing drivers with weight tickets, answering the phone, and performing general housekeeping duties in the workspace. The operator must keep management informed of any issues with the scale or holding area, and perform other tasks as assigned by their supervisor. Bilingual skills are a plus, as the job description is provided in both English and Spanish.
Requirements
- Three months of accumulative Operator Experience.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work closely with drivers.
- Willing and able to lift occasionally 25lb.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
