About The Position

The Scale House Operator weighs trailers of full and empty cages as they arrive from and return to the farm. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records in the system and on back dock sheets, ensuring consistency between the two. The operator provides weight information to the plant receiving clerk, coordinates trailer schedules with the live receiving department, and distributes weight tickets to appropriate areas. Additional duties include weighing outside trucks, answering the phone, performing general housekeeping in the workspace, and reporting any issues with the scale or holding area to management. The role may also involve other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Good computer skills.
Ability to work closely with drivers.
Willing and able to lift occasionally 25lb.
Three months of accumulative Operator Experience.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Could be subject to temperature ranging from 0 to 100 Degrees occasionally when checking fans or birds in all climate conditions.

Responsibilities

Weigh trailers of full cages as they arrive from the farm.
Keep a record on a separate back dock sheet and ensure it matches what is entered in the system.
Weigh trailers of empty cages and keep records in the system and back dock report.
Record all weights on appropriate paperwork and give the information to the plant receiving clerk.
Coordinate the schedule of the trailers to the plant live receiving department.
Maintain copies of the weight tickets and distribute to the appropriate areas.
Weigh outside trucks as necessary and provide drivers with the weight ticket.
Answer the phone.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the workspace.
Keep management informed of any issues with the scale or holding area.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
