About the position
The Sanitation Technician II position at La Reina involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a food processing environment. This role requires working in wet and humid conditions, handling industrial sanitation chemicals, and operating large processing equipment. The technician will be responsible for cleaning various equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring proper documentation of sanitation processes.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning masa sizers and kettles.
- Completing documentation for change-over.
- Frequently lifting/moving hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing 50 lbs.
- Assisting in transporting heavy equipment with carts or other devices.
- Washing production equipment for changeovers with water or chemicals as needed.
- Following and executing from 50% up to 95% of SSOP's.
- Assisting others to ensure the equipment has been set correctly for sanitation activities.
- Ensuring proper sanitary documentation, including change over the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Washing seasoning equipment such as tumblers, scarves, conveyors, and vacuum equipment.
- Washing mixers, conveyors, corn washers, masa sizers, pre-sheeters, sheeters ovens, and all other equipment with chemicals.
- Washing scales from the packaging room with chemicals.
- Washing holding tanks and dry cleaning the packaging room.
- Assisting with Wastewater when the alarm goes off.
- Removing trash and cardboard from production floors.
Requirements
- Forklift Certification
- Mid-level LOTO knowledge
- Ability to read and follow written procedures
- Proven attention to detail
- Responsible, mature, and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for washdowns on weekends
