The Salesforce Technical Lead provides guidance and technical oversight to a team of Salesforce Admins, Developers and Business Analysts to ensure best practices are implemented and project goals are met. Reporting to the Salesforce Manager, the person in this position will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT team members and third-parties to design and implement new features, optimize for growth, improve workflow, data sharing, and reporting to drive deeper engagement with Start Early constituents.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the solution design of Salesforce including Custom Objects, Flows, Custom Fields, Validation Rules, Permission Sets, and Integration configuration.
  • Complete work while following the Salesforce Roadmap and adhering to the Start Early Governance procedures.
  • Communicate status updates with Salesforce Manager ensuring organizational priorities are being met.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to understand their vision, current system needs, and drive the execution of changes in Salesforce.
  • Understand the business challenges and opportunities of the organization and lead improvements to systems and processes.
  • Plan, prioritize, and estimate effort and timeline to implement new features and integrations for business units in an organized manner with clear communication and expectations.
  • Successfully manage deliverables while balancing project timelines and unanticipated issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure team and third-party involved projects are completed as expected.
  • Create, update and maintain platform integrations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for both individual work and for the system holistically.
  • Using the Salesforce Optimizer, assess and recommend areas for improvement to the health of the instance.
  • Review Salesforce Releases, implement timely updates, industry best practices, and emerging technologies. Recommend improvements as necessary to optimize Salesforce instance.
  • Develop platform maintenance schedule and work with Salesforce Administrators to ensure ongoing maintenance is completed.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce ecosystem with 3+ years as a Senior Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Developer with technical implementation, day-to-day operations, and long-term maintenance.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of Salesforce administrators.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture and features, including Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
  • Experience with complex Salesforce implementations.
  • Understanding of nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with NPSP.
  • Experience at working effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation skills, and attention to detail.

  • Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
  • Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.
