About the position

The Sales Representative I position at Basalite Building Products involves representing the company and its products to contractors in Northern California. The role focuses on building relationships with contractors to enhance brand loyalty and increase hardscape sales through the dealer network. The representative will educate contractors on product features and installation techniques while supporting the company's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain effective relationships with contractor customers to increase sales and annual revenue.
  • Strategize & coordinate with the CA Sales Team to foster relationships with residential and commercial contractors.
  • Educate contractors and their staff on the features and benefits of the Basalite hardscape product line and proper installation techniques.
  • Utilize social media for contractor leads and marketing efforts.
  • Use Salesforce to track contractor leads, accounts, and complaints resolution.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote and launch new and existing products.
  • Develop and execute an annual action plan for market success.
  • Deliver samples to customers as needed.
  • Participate in industry trade associations and home shows to promote Basalite products.
  • Host and entertain customers at company-sponsored events.
  • Monitor market trends and inform management of significant occurrences.
  • Attend in-house company and division sales meetings and safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of sales experience, particularly in the Hardscape market.
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to obtain CMHA certification in relevant areas within one year.
  • Professional presentation skills to engage effectively with contractors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate various office and field equipment including personal computers and smart devices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Familiarity with social media marketing strategies.
  • Previous experience in the construction or building materials industry.
