Responsibilities

  • Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
  • Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications.
  • Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
  • Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool.
  • Work alongside a committed team of professional consultants focused on providing specification support and services to top architectural firms.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction and technical support needs.
  • Responsible for architectural development, project tracking and gaining approval for Division 08 door and hardware specification documents.
  • Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.

Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits.
  • Strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator.
  • Ability to work independently but believe in teamwork.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications/facility standards, with industry-related technical and sales aptitude.
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) within an assigned territory.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.

Nice-to-haves

  • College/University degree in architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar.
  • 2-3 years' industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
  • Working knowledge of industry-related software.
