About The Position

The Sales Program Manager is a key operational leadership role responsible for managing, executing, and scaling the post-contract project delivery function within the Ford Energy Sales Organization. This leader will implement, optimize, and maintain the standard operating processes, project controls, and execution playbooks required to seamlessly transition complex energy storage deals from contract signing to final commissioning. In this role, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, overseeing a diverse portfolio of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) installations and integrated infrastructure projects. You will drive rigorous project execution, monitor portfolio health, proactively remove operational roadblocks, and serve as a key operational liaison and escalation point for customers during the deployment phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, a related technical field, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of program management, project delivery, or PMO experience, with a proven track record of executing large-scale utility, infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing, building, and mentoring high-performing project management teams.
  • Strong background in post-contract execution, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) workflows, contract management, and utility-scale deployments.

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMP (Program Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience implementing PMO processes within an engineering, utility, or construction environment.
  • Deep domain knowledge of BESS, grid-scale power systems, or renewable energy project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, and continuously improve standardized post-contract PMO processes, playbooks, stage-gate reviews, and delivery methodologies tailored for BESS and renewable projects.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for project health, delivery efficiency, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize, support, and drive team adoption of advanced program management tools and reporting systems across the project portfolio.
  • Manage, mentor, and support the recruitment of a high-performing team of project managers and execution specialists.
  • Strategically assign resources across the project portfolio, balancing workload, expertise, and project complexity to optimize delivery.
  • Foster a culture of execution excellence, continuous learning, and collaborative problem-solving within the team.
  • Maintain accountability for departmental project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met from contract close to final commissioning.
  • Proactively identify project risks and coordinate cross-functional interventions to unblock delivery pipelines.
  • Serve as the senior operational contact during project deployment, managing key customer relationships and ensuring delivery satisfaction.
