About the position

The Sales Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Bossier Boardwalk is responsible for securing new volume accounts and nurturing existing relationships to enhance the hotel's presence in the local community. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing sales strategies, and ensuring that the hotel's business objectives are met through effective sales techniques and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan.
  • Employ revenue management techniques to recommend corporate rate proposals.
  • Accurately prepare and present Requests for Proposals to ensure value for both client and hotel.
  • Prospect for new contract business using various methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, and attending community functions.
  • Develop, implement and modify sales action plans continuously.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date contact management system.
  • Negotiate and close contracts that align with the hotel's business plan objectives.
  • Communicate client requirements internally to ensure accuracy between client and hotel staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows and sales blitzes.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files to compete successfully.
  • Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Sales & Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience or equivalent industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Familiarity with brand-specific property management systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $43,888 - $50,000 per year.
