About the position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to deliver exceptional customer service in the store. This role involves coaching and training team members, managing performance, and ensuring adequate coverage in the department. The supervisor will also engage in customer-facing activities, oversee inventory management, and maintain store safety standards. Additionally, the position may require opening or closing the store and acting as the manager-on-duty when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • Coach and train associates, delegating tasks and managing performance.
  • Engage in customer-facing activities such as greeting customers and closing sales.
  • Oversee non-customer-facing activities including down stocking and inventory management.
  • Conduct safety walks and report hazards to ensure store safety.
  • Communicate best practices to the team to inspire customer-focused behavior.
  • Supervise associates in other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of retail customer service experience.
  • 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
  • Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Experience in a key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • Experience using store computer systems.
