About the position

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking a property and casualty field territory underwriter for the Boise, Idaho territory. This role is essential in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while fostering profitable growth for agency partners. The position emphasizes building strong relationships with independent agents and requires a commitment to service excellence and ethical practices.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite by analyzing risks, pricing, negotiating, and making informed decisions on commercial business.
• Sell and solicit business across all available business units within the territory to build strong agency relationships.
• Lead territory in strategic plan development, ownership, and execution of growth and profit initiatives, including new agency appointments.
• Achieve deep relationships with assigned agencies to build a diverse and profitable portfolio.
• Provide leadership by partnering with and leading other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success through communication and collaboration.
• Research the market to stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks, and effectively communicate this information.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Willingness to travel and visit agencies within the territory regularly.
• Strategic business plan development skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in underwriting, with a minimum of 2 years of multiline commercial underwriting experience, more than 3 years preferred.
• Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., CIC or CPCU) are a plus.
