About the position

The Sales and Marketing Director at The Glen at Scripps Ranch is a leadership role responsible for planning, developing, and directing the sales team while coordinating all aspects of marketing for the senior living community. This position involves overseeing the annual marketing plan, managing the sales process, and ensuring effective communication with prospective residents and their families. The role also includes supervising the marketing department, preparing budgets, and executing marketing strategies to enhance community occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute all aspects of community residential living occupancy development.
  • Oversee the annual marketing plan including business positioning, objectives, strategies, and budget.
  • Facilitate timely commitments from prospective residents and their families through personal contact and communication.
  • Manage the sales process from inquiry to move-in, ensuring effective representation and negotiation.
  • Supervise the performance of the Marketing Department, including training and evaluating marketing personnel.
  • Ensure proper preparation of units for move-in and keep all parties informed of move-in dates.
  • Maintain accurate records and analysis as required, including an annual marketing plan.
  • Execute sales, marketing, referral, and advertising objectives as outlined in the marketing plan.
  • Stay updated on operational, competitive, and company information to respond effectively to inquiries.
  • Plan and arrange open houses, events, and public information programs, collaborating with community staff and residents.
  • Address civic organizations and represent the community in various activities.
  • Participate in budget preparation and operate within budget guidelines.
  • Determine metrics to measure marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Identify and oversee systems tracking marketing performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of progressive experience in marketing or related work experience.
  • Minimum eight years management experience with proven problem-solving and team-building skills.
  • Successful track record leading and managing a sales team.
  • Minimum five years experience developing and maintaining a department budget.
  • Minimum five years sales or public relations experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Effective presentation skills for both large and small groups.
  • Skilled in computer software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and lead-tracking software.
  • Excellent customer service skills and enjoyment in working with the elderly.
  • Strong executive leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to execute tactically while thinking strategically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Title 22, FHA, ADA, HIPAA, TSR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.
