The primary purpose of this role is to provide quality customer service within the Deli Bakery Department. The Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practice. This role involves maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience. The associate will also follow all technical manuals for product processing and label placement, ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise, and maintain department sanitation, equipment cleanliness, and proper food handling/preparation. They will utilize company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO), and must have a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practice, including Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines. The associate is expected to observe and correct unsafe conditions, report all accidents, ensure compliance with regulations, wear the company uniform, and complete required training.
