About the position

We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team at a leading Japanese food trading company in Denver, Colorado. This role is essential for maintaining and developing business relationships with customers in the assigned area, focusing on achieving sales goals through excellent customer service and understanding of sales processes. The position does not require prior experience, making it accessible for candidates eager to enter the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Visit customer and potential customer facilities to provide information and support as needed to secure and maintain business.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop business, social, and civic relationships with customers in the assigned area to maximize profitability.
  • Responsible for selling products to all customers in the assigned area.
  • Grow business by anticipating customer needs, determining appropriate solutions to business problems, and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Understand and execute price adjustments based on sales plans and management directives.
  • Communicate plans to customers and effectively manage resources to support sales volume.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, information, or feedback gathered through field activities to appropriate company staff.
  • Cooperate with the accounting department to ensure the collection of accounts receivable.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives for the area in cooperation with (Assistant) Sales Managers.
  • Cooperate with assigned Operations and Logistics staff to achieve area sales goals.
  • Provide timely reporting of field activities to assist in business and product planning.
  • Submit sales activity reports and other required reports as needed.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience in the Asian food industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with food products and services.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with word processing software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with sales staff, management, and clients.
  • Strong communication and conversational skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to review, create, and update databases quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations.
  • Ability to learn Oracle ERP software.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within various time constraints.
  • Ability to perform duties according to workload fluctuations; ability to multitask and manage concurrent projects.
  • Outgoing, polite, sincere, and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work confidently and maturely with a positive attitude.
