About the position

The Sales Associate at 2nd STREET USA is responsible for driving sales and providing exceptional customer service in a second-hand clothing store. This role involves engaging with customers, facilitating purchases, maintaining store organization, and supporting various sales activities. The ideal candidate should be energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable about fashion trends, with opportunities for promotion based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales by interacting with customers to provide a genuine and welcoming experience.
  • Communicate with customers, management, and peers in a friendly and attentive manner.
  • Utilize strong listening skills to identify customer needs.
  • Apply fashion knowledge to make product recommendations.
  • Balance customer interactions and tasks efficiently using good judgment and teamwork.
  • Partner with management to resolve customer service situations.
  • Drive credit and other in-store promotional strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide assistance at the fitting room when appropriate.
  • Process transactions, including mobile POS systems.
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership of store performance and standards.
  • Maintain zone presentation to ensure the store remains neat, clean, and organized.
  • Process apparel items and replenish the sales floor as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing merchandise processing.
  • Respond to phone calls and inquiries.
  • Perform all point of sale tasks, including counting cash and customer purchases.
  • Stay up-to-date on current fashion trends, labels, pricing, and what sells in the store.
  • Offer outstanding customer service.
  • Work on interior and window displays and store merchandising.
  • Assist in keeping the store clean and organized.
  • Perform all financial tasks, reconciling cash at closings.
  • Participate in staff training.
  • Responsible for inventory-related tasks.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of the store.
  • Inform customers about upcoming events, gift cards, and rewards programs.
  • Support all other departments as needed.
  • Package and distribute sold items.
  • Provide a professional level of customer service via email, phone, and in person with emphasis on strong after-sales customer service.
  • Control and maintain stock levels/inventory levels.
  • Add items onto the retail website.
  • Shoot and edit pictures of products for the retail website.
  • Register item information on the retail website.
  • Support Buyer on buying appointments and product viewings.
  • Seek constant improvement in work processes.
  • Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Report all irregular issues and problems to management for solutions.
  • Maintain good communication with management, office staff members, and outside contacts.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in retail fashion preferred (1 year).
  • Valid Driver's License if required.
