About the position

The Safety Assistant III position at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) involves supporting the installation and modernization of US Navy, Coast Guard, and Military Sealift Command platforms. Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct surveillance at job sites and provide feedback to workers and leadership.
• Provide training on safety policies and procedures to the workforce.
• Assist in tracking usage and emissions of hazardous substances.
• Exercise independent judgment to suggest process improvements for safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of related experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local safety regulations
• Strong communication and time management skills
