About the position

The Safety and Training Coordinator is a vital role focused on ensuring a safe working environment across construction sites. This position involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant standards. The coordinator will contribute to the overall safety culture of the organization through training and resource provision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety programs and policies in alignment with OSHA and EHS standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites to identify potential hazards.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, compliance management, and emergency response procedures.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations and report any violations or incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure that safety protocols are integrated into all phases of construction projects.
• Maintain records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents or near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles and OSHA regulations.
• Familiarity with EHS standards and practices.
• Understanding of Workers' Compensation processes and compliance management.
• Ability to effectively communicate safety protocols to diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Certification in Occupational Health or Safety is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
