About the position

The Rural Pathways Coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is responsible for coordinating placement and scheduling for students enrolled in rural primary care workforce development programs. This role serves as the primary contact for students interested in these programs, working closely with faculty and clinical partners to ensure effective communication and support for students throughout their educational journey. The position also involves recruitment efforts and managing various student services related to the MED program, ensuring that curricular needs are met and operationalized effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the placement coordinator for School of Medicine students in rural primary care programs.
• Coordinate scheduling and serve as the primary contact for students in rurally focused medical school programs.
• Work closely with the Faculty Director for Rural Education and clinical partners across the state.
• Manage recruitment efforts for the rural track and assist in the application and interview process.
• Perform student services-oriented work related to the MED program, including communication with students and faculty, scheduling, and organizing course materials.
• Support the transition to TEC 2.0 across all phases of the curriculum.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to plan and organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
• Proficiency in using a wide range of software and hardware for educational purposes.
