About the position
The RSO Marketing and Communications Assistant will assist with the production, distribution, and evaluation of any and all communications from 45 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) including Greek Life, Student Activities, SGA, Housing and Residence Life, Intramurals, and Club Sports. The communications will include graphic advertisements such as posters, flyers, door hangers, tri-folds, and table tents, as well as online identity management on both the Fairmont State University site and social media platforms, and email newsletters. The communications will address needs presented by student organizations, the Student Activities Coordinator, and central office staff. Additionally, the person in this role will anticipate students' needs, assess the effectiveness of advertising methods, aid in the development of creative communication methods, and perform additional duties as warranted.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the production and distribution of communications for 45 RSOs.
- Create graphic advertisements including posters, flyers, and other promotional materials.
- Manage online identity on the university site and social media.
- Draft and distribute email newsletters.
- Anticipate students' needs regarding policies and services.
- Assess the effectiveness of advertising methods.
- Aid in the development of creative communication methods.
- Perform additional duties as warranted.
Requirements
- Must be a graphic design major.
- Must have examples of graphic design work.
Benefits
- Base hourly rate of $10.00-$13.00
