About the position
The RS Cabinet Maker I (Weekend) position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Appleton, WI, involves learning and performing basic skills related to the fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies. Under direct supervision, the role requires compliance with safety standards and the ability to work with various types of wood and woodworking machines. The position is essential for ensuring that all equipment is maintained in working order and that project deadlines and budgets are met.
Responsibilities
- Learn entry-level technical skills and knowledge related to aircraft cabinetmaking.
- Develop proficiency in the preparation and making of furniture using design and engineering drawings.
- Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand and track completed work.
- Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body & painting in a technical environment preferred.
- Completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making or a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds.
