About the position

Hornig Companies is seeking a full-time Roving Maintenance Technician to manage maintenance tasks across their Eastern Portfolio in the Roseville, St. Paul, and White Bear Lake areas. The role involves responding to work orders, preparing units for new move-ins, and performing preventive maintenance, all while upholding the company's values of trust, integrity, and respect.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair apartment maintenance issues including plumbing, electrical, and minor construction repairs.
• Prepare units for new move-ins and perform preventive maintenance.
• Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring and compassionate manner.
• Provide expertise on building repair, focusing on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings.
• Participate in an 8-12 week rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements

• Mechanical and plumbing aptitude.
• 1 year of mechanical knowledge experience.
• Valid Driver's License and meet car insurance requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours in various environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Special Boiler's License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Multi-housing experience.
