About the position
The Roving Herbicide Applicator position at Davey Resource Group involves applying herbicides to utility right-of-ways while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities
- Apply herbicide to utility right-of-way.
- Maintain electronic spray logs to record the amount and types of herbicide used, as well as the coverage area.
- Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance standards and construction work plans.
- Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews to create customized solutions.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License with clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a UTV.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated expertise in problem solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills; working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation, and sharing.
- Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority.
- Availability and desire to travel throughout the utility service area.
- Relevant pesticide and/or herbicide licenses and certificates or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
Nice-to-haves
