The Router Operator is responsible for the setup, programming, and safe operation of the router machine to produce high-quality cabinet parts. This role includes loading and unloading materials, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

  • Set up and operate the router to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the router (e.g., bits, drills) to ensure optimal efficiency; promptly notify Facilities Maintenance of any issues.
  • Inspect and maintain the dust collector and gravity box for proper operation.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to program the router for accurate cabinet part production.
  • Cut t-mold grooves and table saw supports as required.
  • Operate a forklift to assist with unloading and storing delivered supplies.
  • Organize and store all materials in designated areas for easy access.
  • Support the “second ops” process as needed to maintain a smooth production flow.
  • Notify the router programmer when additional materials are required.
  • Perform quality control checks on all cabinet parts after router and second ops to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Stack completed cabinet parts on carts in the correct order for assembly.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Clean and maintain the work area at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and basic graph interpretation.
  • Problem-solving skills, including data collection, fact analysis, and interpretation of technical instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Forklift Operator Certification required.
  • Experience with small hand tools, power tools, troubleshooting, and mechanical problem-solving.
