About the position
AllWorld Language Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Romanian, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, or German Toponymist to join their team in St. Louis, MO. This full-time contract position requires expertise in processing geographic names and proficiency in one or more specified languages. The role involves utilizing ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro software and requires a Top Secret SCI Security Clearance. The successful candidate will contribute to various technical and professional services, including translation and intelligence support.
Responsibilities
- Process geographic names in specified languages.
- Utilize ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro software for mapping and data management.
- Conduct research and information gathering related to geographic names.
- Create shapefiles and geo-databases, ensuring data retrieval and storage.
- Analyze and compare native maps, secondary source maps, and historic maps.
Requirements
- 3-10 years of experience processing geographic names.
- Expertise in Romanian, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, or German with ILR 2 reading proficiency.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Top Secret SCI Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Experience using ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro software.
- Knowledge of GEOINT sources and standard NGA products.
