About the position
The General Transportation Tech I or II position at TxDOT's Bryan District focuses on roadway maintenance and repair activities. Responsibilities
- Perform roadway maintenance and repair tasks.
- Operate light and heavy equipment for maintenance activities.
- Conduct preventive and minor maintenance on equipment.
- Assist in traffic control and public safety during emergencies.
- Identify, repair, and install traffic signs and delineators.
- Drive to pick up litter and maintain highways and rights-of-way.
- Complete various required reports including time-keeping and equipment forms.
- Assist with inspections of traffic control devices at construction sites.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license is required.
- General Transportation Tech I: No prior experience required.
- General Transportation Tech II: 1 year of relevant experience in transportation engineering support or related fields.
Nice-to-haves
