Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
• Guide patients to the appropriate level of care and schedule appointments with healthcare providers.
• Document information provided to patients during triage in health record systems.
• Maintain and develop triage protocols, ensuring timely updates of patients' healthcare information.
• Educate patients based on inquiries received through various technologies.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• Complete all requirements to obtain necessary licensure within the first 30 days of employment.
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
