About the position

The position involves coordinating clinical activities in an acute care setting during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. The role provides clinical leadership and support to nursing staff, ensuring effective delivery of nursing care to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include monitoring staffing levels, managing emergency situations, facilitating staff development, and participating in nursing leadership committees to enhance patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical activities throughout the acute care setting during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Provide clinical leadership and assistance to nurses in planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering nursing care.
  • Consult with unit nursing staff to ensure integration and consistency of services for patients and families.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers and off-site Clinical Leaders to monitor and adjust staffing levels based on patient acuities.
  • Support nurses in managing emergency clinical and administrative situations according to established policies and protocols.
  • Facilitate competency assessments and staff development needs for nursing staff on shifts and weekends.
  • Provide nursing leadership support and guidelines through networking, mentoring, and communication.
  • Participate in nursing leadership committees, seminars, and problem-solving groups to facilitate patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing.
  • Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
  • CPI certifications obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • 3 years acute care experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • 1 year leadership experience at the Charge Nurse level.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with healthcare team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • BSN Preferred.
  • Critical care experience preferred.
  • 1 year experience in the Health System preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $51.45-$57.56
