About the position

As an RN Supervisor Med Surg at Medical City Dallas, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in patient care. This role involves ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions in the unit during your designated shift. You will collaborate with other management team members to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies.
  • Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages all practical aspects of staff labor.
  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the State of TX and/or has an active compact license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required at hire.
  • 1+ years of recent acute care experience preferably in unit required.
  • Supervisory/Charge experience preferred.
