About the position

The RN Supervisor at Sunrise Manor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day nursing activities in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves supervising nursing staff, coordinating resident care, and maintaining high-quality standards in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Assist the DON/ADON in directing day-to-day nursing activities.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with 3 other nurse managers.
  • Ensure that reference material at the nurses' stations is current.
  • Ensure compliance with Nursing Service Procedures Manual by all nursing personnel.
  • Coordinate nursing with other resident services for continuity of care.
  • Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan department services and activities.
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
  • Perform administrative duties including medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.
  • Develop work assignments and assist in task completion.
  • Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions and their details.
  • Ensure rooms are ready for new admissions and greet residents upon arrival.
  • Escort newly admitted residents to their rooms as necessary.
  • Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
  • Maintain adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure care personnel are aware of residents' care plans.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare facility.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in Ohio.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
  • Possess leadership and supervisory ability with a willingness to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and the public.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
