The Staff Development Coordinator at Sanford Health serves as a Clinical Learning & Development Specialist in long-term care settings, focusing on education and training to enhance care delivery. This part-time role involves assessing, planning, coordinating, and teaching educational programs, while also serving as a CNA Program instructor. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a supportive team environment, with no holiday or direct care shifts required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, teach, and evaluate education and training programs within designated areas.
  • Develop alternative methodologies for education based on adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with leaders, employees, educational facilities, and community agencies.
  • Manage and document departmental needs related to compliance and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing education within departments.
  • Facilitate research and serve as a resource to clients.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to assess educational needs.
  • Demonstrate effective collaborative skills with health team members.
  • Respond flexibly to organizational changes through educational processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a clinical or healthcare field.
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on clinical experience required based on licensure.
  • Currently holds a professional and unencumbered clinical license.
  • Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated involvement in clinical process improvement initiatives.
  • Additional certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
