About the position

The position involves providing direct patient care in a specialty unit, adhering to the organization's standards and policies. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and psychosocial support needs.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Evaluates learning needs of the patient and family and provides appropriate education.

Requirements

  • Accredited Nursing Program (Required)
  • ACLS Certification from American Heart Association
  • BLS Certification from American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT)
  • One (1) year of nursing experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate (for RNs administering chemotherapy)
  • APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card (within 12 months of hire for pediatric oncology)
  • PALS certification (for Pediatric areas)
  • NRP certification (for NICU)
  • Certification in Fetal Monitoring for L&D RNs.
