The RN Resident position in the Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) at St. Joseph's Health is designed for new graduate nurses seeking to develop their skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic critical care and med/surgical nursing interventions.
  • Conduct patient education, goal setting, critical thinking, and care planning.
  • Administer treatment modalities and care for patients.
  • Participate in collaborative team approaches, including SNAP rounds and vent rounds with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to plan, direct, and supervise patient care while providing direct care to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with eligibility for licensure in the State of New York.
  • Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certification.
  • Experience in time management and critical thinking.
