About the position
The Nurse Residency program at Piedmont is a 12-month transition-to-practice initiative designed to support new graduate nurses as they transition from students to professional nurses. This program emphasizes education, mentorship, and peer support, equipping participants with the necessary skills to improve quality and safety in patient care. Nurse residents will engage in a combination of preceptored orientation and blended learning experiences, focusing on clinical judgment, communication skills, and professional socialization.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of assigned staff.
- Demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification required.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
